Nairobi Elephant and Rhino Orphanage

Still doing jobs in Nairobi, I also checkout the Elephant and Rhino Orphanage.

It’s a fantastic place to get up close with the baby elephants, and you can even rub and pet them when they come close to the rope fence – which was often.

elephant being fed 720x480

What a cool job!

elephant drinking 720x480

Each elephant gulped down more than one of these massive bottles in record time.

They are all playful and energetic, and it’s great to see them doing so well after they have all been rescued from certain death for whatever reason.
It’s heartwarming to know they will be re-released into the wild, and that elephants will adopt them and they can live normal lives.

elephant smile 720x480

They really do smile, often

little elephant 720x480

One of the smaller guys

elephant resting 720x480

elephant face 720x480

Their faces display so much emotion

elephant eating 720x480

They loved these branches

It’s an amazing place, well worth a visit if you find yourself in Nairobi!

These guys were very friendly, and enjoyed a good belly rub
