Dude I love your story and diary of your trip. It’s awesome seeing your adventure versus some edited story you would see on TV. Keep jeepin’ and stay safe.

      Thanks Chris!

Let me know if there is anything specific you would like to see photos of, or for me to write about!

If you chose to, would you be able to carry a firearm from country to country? How much have you worried about safety and security?

        • Dan Grec says:

          Hi Chris,

I don’t think it would be possible – getting a permit to carry it in each country would be years of paperwork, and actually I think it would be impossible in many countries.
People are extremely friendly and welcoming. While I’m careful, it’s not something I think about on a day-to-day.

    Thanks for the responses.

In light of security, are you passing well clear of the population centers on the Indian coast because of the extremist threats? Or is that because you’ve deemed there to be a better adventure along your planned route?

    • Dan Grec says:

      Hi Chris,

I don’t have a locked-in route or plan for the East Coast. I will talk to locals, military, border guards and other Overlanders and assess the situation in each place as I come to it.
Also, I don’t particularly like cities, so unless I need to go into them for visas or something else, I typically don’t go into the big ones.

      -Dan
