Not near as scenic as the stuff in Utah, but better than spending all your time at the Strip.

Ahh, your in my part of the country now, at least up until 2 months ago when I moved from Las Vegas to Charlotte, NC. I love that part of the world. Arches is something as are Bryce, Zion, Lake Powell, Cedar Breaks, etc.

If you find yourself going through Las Vegas, do everything you can to avoid the Strip. Red Rock National Conservation Area has some good hikes and exceptional rock climbing if you want to spend a day or two in Las Vegas without getting caught up in the tourist trap.

Safe travels.
